Hey guys, I haven't been on here for awhile and just read the conversation. Here's my thoughts. I say keep the points, my only goal this year was to finish in the top 10. I succeeded by running 8 races. If it wasn't for the points I probably would have made 3 or 4 as I live in Norfolk and I have a lot of windshield time which equates to a lot of expense. Which brings me to the third class idea. I'm not racing to get rich, I'm racing because I love to do it. If the purse went down because of an added class I would have to miss some races because I would not pull my car 2-3 hours for a chance to win not even enough $ to pay my fuel and entry fee. It's not a terrible idea and I know this wouldn't be the case for most, but would be an issue for me.
I really liked the idea of the qualifiers from the heats drawing for the top spots and the cars from the consolations drawing for the remaining spots. I don't really care how it ends up, I just wanted to say I liked that idea.
With all that being said, I will finish with I'm great full for this series and I think a lot of fairs and fans are also. I've met a lot of great people because of figure 8ing and I'm sure I will meet more. Nothing beats a family that you have never met to come meet you in the pits after the races because there kid was rooting for you all night. I'm planning on giving my helmet away to some lucky kid that's been rooting for me all night this next season. I'm pretty sure that would make his or hers day and it would make mine too. Looking forward to seeing everyone this season. I just hope it's more and not less.
