Michael Wize will be stepping up to take over the President roll with Theron agreeing to help out with a lot of things in the transition.
Below is an update on information for the 2016 Season!
Rules
After the 2016 rules meeting a few weeks ago it was voted to have both the Open and Stock rules to stay the same for 2016. Also discussed at the meeting was the addition of the ProMod Class. Rules have been updated on the website. A few changes to note.

Open Class Changes
- Automobile rule take out - We evolved to the box cars so the thought is why limit anything open is open. If someone wants to build an front wheel drive, El Camino, Ranchero, Limo or Hearse go for it. Not really a necessary rule so it was removed.
Stock Class Changes
- Some fuel rules removed including the no racing fuel and saying only pump gas can be used. This was removed because there isn't a good way that is feasible for the officials to check and enforce the rule. For that reason it was removed.
- Inspection after the race isn't going to be done by Nebraska Unified Officials so rule was removed. Vacuum most likely won't be checked after the event either.
- Protest fee in rules last year was $150. Nebraska Unified Officials have always done $250 so amount of protest fee changed.
ProMod Class Added
- Rules determined by Nebraska Unified Officials are Any tire can be used, 107 inch wheel base or greater, aluminum blocks allowed.
- This class will be more of an old school driving with bumping and banging being allowed.
All rules and build questions need to be directed to Nebraska Unified Officials David Bryan at 402-366-1437. NeFigure8n will not have any input in teching cars, rule enforcement, or disputes. The goal of NeFigure8n in 2016 is to promote Figure 8 racing in Nebraska by helping to spread the word about races to help the fairs holding races get drivers and fans to their events, track points, and operate nefigure8n.com website.
Schedule
We are trying to finalize the schedule on dates, times, and officials. Hopefully this will be finalized by the Derby/Figure 8 party in Osceola. Changes that I know of for sure though are:
Beatrice will not have a race
Linn, KS will only be having one race which will be June 18th. They will not be having the July and August race.
Arlington is considering Monster Trucks instead of having a race. Should know what they decide by mid March
Currently we aren't scheduled to have a NeFigure8n Championship Race. I will follow up with Wahoo and see if they have interest. I have reached out to Crete and they are going to consider it and another driver has expressed interested hosting one in David City but at this time nothing is set for sure.
