Update on A-Town Showdown Race in Aurora on June 4th.
Del Ray is sponsoring the race and is giving me a Odyssey racing battery that is worth close to $300 to raffle off at the race. This raffle will just be for the drivers so your chances will be pretty good. Also he is giving every driver a Odyssey sticker when you check in. Schneiders Hardware and Salmon Auto are going to come up with a bunch of free prizes to throw out to the crowd as well. There will also be a raffle car for someone to get the chance to race it in the feature. Hope everyone will be able to make it to the race. It should be a fun one to kick off the season. If anyone has any questions about the race you can call me at 402-694-8571. Thanks

Noticed all your signage for the race in Aurora and at some of the Grand Island parts stores. People are talking about it so hopefully you will get a good crowd. Good luck!

Picking up the programs is now handled.
Pierce race trophies are done and look great! They are custom made and would be unique up on your shelf. They have trophies for the top five in both classes. Entry fee will be $20 per car and will have a $5000 purse! They will have a DJ after the race with a beer garden and dancing. Should be a fun night and worth the trip! They are willing to have a figure 8 race every year, so let's get a good car count and put on a great show!!!
The 2011 NeFigure8n points series will be free this year to all who want to chase the bragging rights and trophies! The NeFigure8n Championship Race will be double points this year which should add a little bit of a twist to the final race. We will have trophies for the top five points finishers in each class as well as rookie of the year in each class. Please let Mike Wize know if you are wanting to run for the rookie of the year as he is handling the points again this year. I have a unique idea for the trophies and should get them made in the next few weeks.

Competed in less than 5 races in that class. If you raced 5 or more times in the open class you are not eligible to drop down and run for the stock class rookie of the year. However if you have competed in the stock class and are moving up you would be eligible to run for the open class ROY.

does anyone know how much the entry fee and pit passes will be for the bomber blowout? I am not 100% sure but they are usually $40-$45 and $15-$20 for pit passes.

They are also planning on having two tractors with box scrapers and a packer that will be used, not just for show! I will be going over the track with them on Friday as they are building it, and it can be as big as we want it. DDOT will have plenty of room to move tires as needed and the tractors can make a couple of laps around the tires after each race to clean it up and keep the racing good. They will be asked to be ready to roll as the checkered flag drops and could have it cleaned as the last broken car gets pushed off the track.

The Pierce County Ag Society would like to thank all those drivers who came to their first figure 8 race. They all seemed to enjoy figure 8 racing and loved the open feature. Hopefully they will have another race next year and more cars will show after hearing from others about this race. The track was awesome, a monster and only had to be worked a couple of times. They had a great crowd and hopefully made a bunch of money for their new building. Hope those who earned trophies liked them and if you have other ideas for trophies let me know.
I was also informed that another fair board was at the race, so hopefully we will pick up another race next year in the spring.
