Hello. The results from the race in Lincoln (Lancaster County) are pending. The stock class, I believe, is correct. The open class, I believe, is not correct. We are trying to look at any video. We need good video.
Please have all fuel cell systems correct for the race at York. Many of you drivers have been told about corrections to your systems. Have them corrected by York (Saturday at 6 pm). Fuel caps, tip over valves, vent hoses, etc... Fuel tanks MUST be mounted solid. Thank you for now. David Bryan

I'm disappointed in David Bryan stopped the race just because two of the cars spun out in the turn and put them back where they were. I only see this happen when it's one of the drivers is a known whinner. It's that what Figure 8 racing is all about?

Hello. I am not sure what to write. I would like to reply to "nebluebird", but am not sure how. Usually, I pay less attention to the whiners. However, if I stopped the race (not sure which race) to put a pair of whiners "back where they were", I will promise, I will never do that again. Actually I really hate whiners, especially the moms and dads of drivers. I thought I may be done with figure 8 this year, but not now. David Bryan

Great thing about the figure 8 season is that we are now done with Dave and his shows. Fairness will be and every driver treated equal. You won't have calls for certain drivers with certain last names! You probably also won't see a driver whine his way into a feature like at the first York race and then at the next York race whine while under a red flag in the feature when he was told where to move his car back to when the red flag came out. What about that should have been loaded after drilling the 7t car? I guess you can do that when you are in...! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the race season and good luck to those who still have a car to run!!! ;D Ryan

Wow!!! Glad to see Derbyfan (Ryan ) has it all figured out!! Can't wait to see his OFFICIALS UNIFOROMS NEXT YEAR AND NEW HEAD SETS!!!! If you race anything you are going to have judgement calls. If you dislike the calls from a group of officials have some balls and calmly talk it over with them (they are humans also) if it you cant agree then common sense says don't support there shows!! It works a lot better to talk to them face to face rather than trash them on here or any other site. SOME OF US ARE OUT THERE RACING TO HAVE FUN AND RESPECT THE OTHER DRIVERS ENOUGH TO RACE THEM RATHER THAN ALWAYS TRY TO TAKE THEM OUT FOR THE POSITION!! IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FUN SPORT TO DO OVER THE SUMMER BUT THE FREAKING WHINNING AND ROUGH DRIVING IS GETTING RIDICULOUS AND RUINING IT FOR THE ONES THAT JUST DO THIS FOR FUN!! Officials can talk to you calmly if you approach them as wanting to discuss your complaint and not yell and cuss at them, as I have learned they are more willing to listen to a calm person!!! FREAKING GROW UP PEOPLE AND LETS GET THIS SPORT BACK TO AS MUCH FUN AS IT USE TO BE!!! TAKE SOME RESPONSABILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS OR PUT YOUR BALLS BACK IN YOUR WIFES OR GIRL FREINDS PURSE AND STAY HOME SO THE REST OF USE CAN HAVE SOME FUN WITH OUT ALL THE WHINING AND COMPLAINING!!! HELP CHANGE THINGS IF YOU THINK IT IS WRONG (IF YOU CAN) OR SHUT UP AND WORK WITH WHAT WE HAVE!!! Most of us out here racing have done it long enough you know when you drive like a moron and hit everything on the track so its time to grow up and take responsibility for your own actions and try to earn some respect of the other drivers and race them clean like you would want to be raced then the offiicials would not have to make all those judgement calls everyone hates. THE DRIVERS CONTROL THE RACING ACTION THE OFFIACIALS ARE THERE TO HELP!!!! The drivers control most of the show, without them there will be no fans in the stands and then there will be no show so lets all try to race each other clean and have some respect for the other drivers and all have fun!!!! They say talk is cheap but if all we do is yell and complain then there is no talk only confusion and no respect so lets try to clean the racing up and put on a good show for the fans and have some fun while we do it. There is still a lot of the season left so I would think we could all change for the better and still have some fun in 2011!!! Hope everyone that reads this really stops and thinks about it all and helps the sport grow for the better. FOLLOW THE RULES AND LETS HAVE SOME FUN AGAIN IN THIS SPORT!!!!

Hello. Ryan the "derbyfan". derbyfan? Please note this was a race and not a derby. With that written, I assume you are writing about the race in York. I do know the 7T got hit in the finals, by the 98 car. A few things about that hit; I state in the pit meeting that if a car gets hit behind the driver's door, and gets spun out, the driver who made the hit would be disqualified. First, the 7T did get hit, did it get spun out? Well, no. Did it get hit behind the driver's door? Well, since it has no doors (or has one big door as a side), it is hard to judge. Yes, I do know that the 7T did get hit in the rub rail at the back tire. Should the 98 car be disqualified for that hit? Well, see above, the part about being spun out. In our opinion, it was a little about the lesser of two evils. Could the call have been made to disqualify the 98 car?, YES, did we?, NO. IF we had disqualifed the 98 car, the 51 car (probably) would have won the race. Now.... how would that have been taken? Tell the truth now. Let me know.
Ryan, if we are to be accused of "favorites", than you tell me why we did NOT disqualify the 98 car? That would have given the win to the 51 car. I will wait. Also, a case could have been made to place the 18 car ahead of the 45J car with about one lap to go. That would have put the 18 car in the finals. I will wait.
And one last thing, I am NOT done with figure 8 this year. More to come. David "you can be such a A hole" Bryan

Hello. Yes, still waiting.........I did hear though that, possibly, you thought the 51 car made the hit on the 7T car? Not true. The 98 car did make the hit. I am sure that if the 51 car made the hit, I would have been told about it all from Gerald.
And a few things about the "first" York show (Bomber Blowout): I read what you posted about a driver who whined his way into the finals at York? I will assume you write about the 51 car? In that heat, the 51 car, and another car actually made all 10 laps. The car 12 did not make all ten laps. Since the 12 car was ahead (in first place) and only had a quarter lap to go when it got spun out, it was decided to take the 12 car to the finals. The 51 car was already in. The question was to take the 12 car or not. Now, if I held a grudge, and was not fair (as you claim), would the 12 car have made the finals? Tell the truth now. Let me know.
Since you seem to know what should and should not be done, you tell us all how YOU would have made that call? And to go one step further, if you choose, we will allow you to wear a radio set, stand on the side lines with us, and interact with our crew. This way, we can get some feed back from you. You can let us know how certain calls should be made. I will write, you will see things a little different, ask Jason Abel. All for now. David Bryan

tommygproductions.com/events/documents/CSFDerbyRules11.pdfHere is the link to the information on the Colorado State Fair figure 8 race/Enduro and Demo. This was mentioned by Bob M. to some and at the York figure 8 race. Purse didn't turn out as big as was first mentioned and I don't think most of our cars are legal per their rules. Might be fun if you have a car that would be legal. Theron #2

as much crying and bitching that goes on any more about you hit me and you don't drive fair and all the so called missed calls how about it go back to the way it was let's just say 13 to 14 years ago when it was a figure 8 derby. no missed calls guessing the winner would be pretty well known and theres no such thing as dirty driving. I'd be game . just my thoughts

Hello., I love video. I really love good video. Ryan (derbyfan), you tell all of us, should the 98 car have been black flagged for the hit on the 7T car? Oh, I know, you thought the hit was made by the 51 car. Tell us then, should ANY car be black flagged for that hit on the 7T car? We made a quick decision in the heat of the race (at ground), and, we stick by it. The 7T car, really, did not get spun out. The 7T car did not loose position. "should have been loaded after drilling the 7T car?" My answer is still,... no. The real question should be; Why did the 7T car (down on half a lap plus) try and beat the lead cars through the x? Really?
And, if you look at the line up after the red flag for the engine fire, did we come close enough for the re-start? You tell me. I will let you get a tape measure if that will help.
I am the very first to tell, we make mistakes. We do make mistakes. Not all calls are made. But, when we get accused of favorites, I get a liitle bent. Some day, people may realize, my friends do not get the breaks that, perhaps, they should. My friends know this all to well. Do you see the 51 car slamming off other cars? pushing his way through? taking chances? No he knows he will get the black flag. He knows he will get the black flag sooner than others. Now, if some one can get video to state this is not the case, I will watch, and listen. I love video. David Bryan
