Let's get the conversation started for next year on rules changes anyone might want. Please keep it clean!
Discussion Items brought up for possible rule changes for 2014: 3rd Class added(Outlaw, Pro Stock, Stock) Cars being removed from track when disabled Restarts after Red Flags Rear Brakes mandatory on all cars Feature Position Draw (Example if 6 cars transfer out of the heats then they would draw for positions 1-6 and the consi cars would draw for 7-12. Cars can only be ran in one class at event

Maybe just a few things to look at. When a car becomes disabled, remove car from track, no matter where they are sitting or let driver get out of car. I don't think the drivers are out of harms way anywhere on the track. And maybe when rules are changed, they cannot be changed again for a couple of years, unless it is a safety concern, that way the rules aren't changing every year.

I think we need to look into having a 3rd class. Here are a few questions that would need to be answered before something like this can work. What would the 3 classes be? What is classified as a box car? Would any custom car with modification be in the 3rd class? I don't see the fairs adding more money to the total purse so how do you split the purse? Are guys willing to run for less money to have more classes.

What are your thoughts on doing restarts on red flags similar to other motorsports? I think this would keep drivers from gaining huge benefits from not stopping right away on the red flag. I like the idea of keeping rules the same for multiple years!

3rd class would consist of oem body and wheel base. just like the stock class cars but in this class you are able to run open motors. the 3 classes would be stock pro, stock and out law. box car is anything that is not oem from the factory. i dont think that the fair boards would have a problem with adding a little to the purse. And I didnt think this was about the MONEY. its suppose to be about going out and having fun and putting on a good show for the crowd. People are going to ask if stock class cars can run in each class. the answer would be no, you pick what class you want to run when you check in that night but only get points for one class for the season.

i would like to see the cars that qualify from the heats draw for the top spots in the feature. for instance, if 6 cars transfer out of the heats then they would draw for positions 1-6 and the consi cars would draw for 7-12.

I don't have a preference on the restarts. Best thing to do is let the drivers vote on it.

If that is the only difference between the Outlaw and Pro-Stock why not keep two classes and allow the stock class to run whatever motor they want? As far as not being for the money I would agree you shouldn't get rich doing this but it is expensive to run and compete so if there isn't that chance of winning something to recoup some of the money you put into the hobby I think it will only hurt the sport in the end. If a stock class car is legal to the rules why can't it run in both classes? There really isn't any difference from a driver bringing multiple cars to an event to run in each class.

you would be able to do more to your car. im just thinking saftey for the guys that run open class and have a box or non oem car. something needs to get done before someone gets seriously hurt. most them cars weigh rite around 3000lbs while the other cars are weighing 4000 plus thats alot of weight to give up. look at how many times someone had to get helped out of there car cuz they got hit by an iron sled or just got hit in a corner. I'm sure the guys thats run a box car wouldnt mind seeing a 3rd class added to where they wouldnt have to race against an iron sled and take the chance or getting there car mangled up and have to fix it after every race. look how many times that happended tyler nerud. I dont maybe they like redoing there cars after every race but im thinking not just seeing there reaction after they have gotten tore up.

1. 4 working brakes on all cars 2. no mud tires
cars are getting faster every year and 4 working brakes is a must for safety and the mud tires throw a lot of mud clods into the stands and hit people and they also tear up the corners and make big holes which lead to breaking suspension on cars, loss of control while bouncing through the holes around the corner and help roll cars over

I think that there should be a weight rule for open class. I think officials should be pushing more for safety. I don't run stock but I think that class is starting to get carried away because nobody is enforcing the rules.
