Updated rules have been placed on the website and can be found at www.nefigure8n.com/rules.html. Below are links to the rule documents as well.

Please read through them as there are a few changes and clarifications. Most notable changes are: Open Class: digger tires are now illegal and you must run either race tires or DOT tires. Stock Class: vacuum increased to 17, and although the rules for carbs has always said OEM, it's now listed that Holley & Edelbrock carbs are illegal. The officials also changed how the inspection of stock class cars will be handled. At the first race they will inspect safety items and look over the cars. After the first race it will then change to where only safety items are checked before the race as is done in the open class, then the top five will get inspected after the race and if found illegal the drivers will lose their finishing position, purse money, and points for the night. A protest fee has also been added so drivers can have a specific area looked over on a car if they feel someone is cheating. This change along with the others should help eliminate cheating and the running of illegal parts. It should also eliminate the complaining as guys now have a way to put their money where their mouth is if they feel someone isn't legal.
The schedule should be coming out in the next week or so as a few races are finalizing their dates. We are excited to announce that most of the races have stayed the same, maybe lost one race but gained at least one race. The Gage County Fair in Beatrice is one of the new races that added us to their Eve of Destruction. It will be an Open Class race only and only Open Class points will be awarded, but as normal stock class cars can compete. It will have a $4000 purse with a 12 car feature, $25 pit pass/entry fee and be in their infield so the track can be pretty good size. They get over 3000 people in the grandstands for this event so it will be a great way to show off our sport. If this goes over good they will have us back next year with hopefully a full show, and possibly put on another figure 8 race during one of their open race dates during the year. The trailer race will follow the figure 8 feature, and if guys are interested in trailer racing you can pre-register on their fair site and get two free pit passes.
We pushed back the start time of the NeFigure8n Championship Race this year, set up the following weekend as the rain date and have signed with MavTV and Adventure Aaron to have the NeFigure8n Championship race taped for season two of MotorSports Road Trip. This should be a great way to show off our sport to a national audience, and if you have ever wanted to be on big time tv this will be your chance. They initially wanted to tape us for season one, but we would have needed to have a race in April and we felt that would be hard to make happen. So instead we passed the word on to Don Wauters who owns Brooklyn Speedway and he jumped on the offer as they are having their spring nationals April 25th & 26th. So if you want another chance to be on MavTV then get the car ready for a quick trip over to Iowa as taping will be done that Friday night.
Stay tuned for more information and the complete schedule in the coming weeks. Thanks!
