asheymarie4324 your comment didnt come of as offensive to me you only spoke the truth and if I ever have a problem with some one I will figure out who your are and come talk to you face to face about it civilized. I realize you are a person to and treat people like I would want to be treated. For some reason every year starts out this way and a lot of guys act like a bunch of ten year olds and need reminded they are grown ups now and need to act more responsable dont know for sure why other than they have so much money invested in there cars now days and know it will take a good hit that they think they have to drive and act that way to win. EVERY SPORT IS GOING TO HAVE DRAMA IT JUST HOW THE PEOPLE INVOLVED HANDLE IT ( WITH CLASS OR NOT ) LIKE IT HAS BEEN SO FAR THIS YEAR. The years of figure 8n being so much fun where gone when people started building tanks , high dollar motors and investing more in their cars than what they could afford. And now they have to win at no cost to try and get some of that money back. Most (I say MOST ) drivers would rather wreck you for a position than try and race you clean anymore. There are a few that still want to race and not make it a derby but when you get taken out on purpose just for a couple positions you get pissed off real easy and remember that at the next race. In my oppinion the drivers need to clean up the racing and act a lot more grown up and the officals are there for a reason also to do there job and help the drivers remember what clean racing is and inforce the rules. WHEN THERE IS A DESPUTE TALK IT OVER WITH THE OFFICAILS CALMLY ( THEY ARE HUMAN TO NOT SOME NO MINDED DOG ) A lot of times its better to walk a way and calm done , think the situation over then go discuss it. I have tried to teach the 2 second rule to a lot of people that I learned over the years so I will share it here also . IF YOU COME UPON A GUY IN THE CORNER YOU WILL GAIN MORE TIME AND POSITIONS IF YOU COUNT ONE THOUSAND ONE ,ONE THOUSAND TWO THE GUY IS USSUALLY GONE AND YOU DONT HAVE TO SPIN HIM OUT AND WILL PROBABLE PASS HIM CLEAN IN THE NEXT CORNER !!!!!!! TRY IT AT ONE RACE AND IT DOES REALLY WORK. FASTEST DOESNT ALWAYS WIN THE RACE.!!!!!!! EVERY ONE HAVE A GOOD RACING AND SAFE WEEKEND NO MATTER WHERE YOU RACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRAIG WIZE

First off, i wanna say i enjoyed the races in Arlington tonight. I like a challange. Second, I want to apologize to the driver of the 10d car. I admit I had a few words with him after i got my axle broken (not to harsh i hope). I was frustrated and it happens. Anyways, 10D, I have no hard feelings against you as I hope you dont against me and I look forward to helping each other out in the future. Hope everything is o.k. after your roll-over in the feature. Stick with it, you have my respect. And just remember.... Its all about having fun. Let me be the first to say that i myself need reminded that sometimes. Thanks NEFIGURE8N. I wouldn't be doing it without you.

Joel I want to say that I'm sorry for breaking your axle last night. I'm not going to make excuses I did it, but I felt bad because I know you could have done well in the consi and feature. As for me I'm alright, just a little headache. I still had fun and hope everyone did too.

no i was with 5 open class cars and never heard a gripe except track conditions. thats to be expected with drought conditions and no sub soil moisture to work with. I thought Dave and his crew did a great job and ran a smooth show. thanks to Dave Bryan and crew for a fast and entertaining show.

Thank You Leroy for the parts. Got them all installed and hopefully we can finish the last couple of races with out breaking any more. Glad you had a great time kevindickes they are few and far between any more. Had a question ask last sunday and I didn"t get it answered for the guy so I will try and answer it on here cause I think more new guys have the same question in the stock class. It was why can"t we just build what we want to as long as we don"t drive bad? The big question there is when will you use your welded up car and front end not why. If you really have to weld your stock class car up so much and have all the extra time and money by all means PLEASE MOVE UP TO THE OPEN CLASS THAT HAS NO RULES AND WILL ALLOW YOU TO DO THAT and let the ones that can build to the rules and not read between the lines have fun in the stock class! IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE. I really do fill sorry for the young guys coming into the sport and the ones already in it that cant just build to the rules. There is alot of rules in life and if you have to cheat at something as simple as figure 8 racing you arent going to make it very far in life. Here is a little history lesson or some memories for the older guys. Twenty five years ago or so we had a great thing going with the county fairs when figure 8 racing started. A lot of guys joined in from derbing and the sport really grew. Back then there was a lot of guys that would build there car in their back yard and then have fun at all the fairs all summer long. It was no problem to have 40-60 cars at every local fair. The sport grew and lost a few guys for what ever reason then it got more competitive and more guys put more money in their cars and we lost a few more guys cause they could not compete against the money. Then we had a rules meeting and it got voted in to allow a lot of welding and beffing the car up because every one got tired of working on their car just to make the next fair. (It wasnt their driving that caused the damage it was always the other guy) Now we have the beginning of the tanks and the high performanced motors that we call the open class. Progression of the sport is good but all you hear now is where have all the cars gone why doesnt any body want to build a car? In my opinion the only ones to blame are the drivers for voting in all the rules and letting it get cared away like it is. There used to be a guy that always said watch what you wish for on the rules! Some one will do their research a little better and have more time and money and out do you with the rule you pesented. Imagine that he really did hit it on the head. So the stock class was started a few years ago because there was a few cars in the one class we had that just could not run with the BIG BOYS and was always in the way. Now we have the question brought up again about the stock class because some guys want to do more than the rules allow! Well some have said start another class! Do we really have enough people interested in starting another class right now? I dont really think so and I dought the fair boards want to spend any more money that way. But that is just my opinion and a few others that Ive talk with. Some say change the rules to help more guys come in to the sport! I think that they are simple and cheap right now the waythey are that a guy can still start cheap and LEARN HOW TO DRIVE and save his money than move up to the open class. If we keep changing the rules so much just because a few guys have extra derby parts they want to use or what ever lame reason it pushes the cost to start even higher and then there wont be anyone that even wants to try. I can count on one hand the guys that are still in figure 8n that was around and voted in all the dum rules. A lot of them said they got out because they could not afford it any more or their priorites changed as they grew up. Now look whats left! Dont get me wrong it is still a bunch of great guys but if you want a rule change think about it and look down the road and relize what it might do to the few thats left. I really hope this gets a few thinking before its to late and we loose more drivers in it all ready just to please a few young guys that probable wont be around in five years or so when they graduate from high school! GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT IS RACING THIS WEEKEND AND REMEMBER TO DRIVE CLEAN CAUSE PAY BACKS SUCK IF YOUR ON THE RECIEVING END !!!!!!!!!! K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid) Craig Wize

Wow, how this sport has changed over the years. All motorsports do. I remember getting 3rd in Geneva with a diesel olds, but, that was a long time ago. Times change. Now we have two classes with a lot bigger purses and more money in the cars, they go hand in hand. If the money for first was only $300 we would bitch 'cause of the dollars spent to build a racecar that's competitive in our class of choice. I have been in the sport sense the start, Things change, the more money spent the higher the tensions and expectations are going to be. I am still running a car that was built before there were two classes, I seem to be competitive in the few tracks I run at making the finals 50% of the time with an old car with an old stock motor running pump gas and stock drive line, I ain't bitching I'm having fun with out braking the bank. I could drop to stock class but being a front wheel drive, I can't. The guys in stock wouldn't like me in there heats anyway. I try to drive clean but some times things happen, when they do I go to the other driver and extend an open hand and talk it over. You don't need to take out a loan to build a competitive car and you don't have to win to have fun. Some stock driver might look at the open class and see the mod cars and think that's a hell of a jump to get to open class. I'm not saying we need a third class. Any given day any of the cars can win or loose. If the cars are built to the rules and the driven to the rules than there shouldn't be a question, when the rules are broken there shouldn't be a question either. Build a good car that's with in your means, drive hard but with in the rules, Have fun. Best of luck for the 2013 season, Be safe, getting hurt ain't fun.
